Tick tock, tick tock…
We sit here and are waiting and waiting and waiting…..that “big hand” takes forever to come around to strike the top of the hour. This is so much about how we live each and every day….waiting and waiting and waiting.
WHY do we continue to live like this? What does this say about how we link our everyday life to our dreams? Again, we sit and wait and wait and wait for that stupid “big hand” to creep up to the top of the hour while our dreams sit back and are waiting in the dust.
How do we change this? How do we change the course of our direction?
We interrupt your existing BLUEPRINT to bring you and announcement from you NEW AND IMPROVED BLUEPRINT…..
This is an emergency….that OLD blueprint is just that OLD. Who wants to hold onto something that is outdated and irrelevant? I will tell you that as an Interior Designer, I deal with this concept on a DAILY basis. In order for our clients to understand that for them to create a more functional and marketable building that have to re-look at the ways they are doing things, evaluate where they want to be and masterplan on how to get there. Sound familiar? They then engage a Designer….the person that is going to take that plan and craft a BLUEPRINT to get them there.
Isn’t that what we are already doing? But WHY do we consistently hold ourselves to that same old clock? The only time that dumb ol’ clock is adjusted is during daylight savings time or if the battery needs changing. It isn’t constantly adjusting based on where we are, what we are doing and where we are wanting to go.
Wait, wait, wait…..now I was a girl scout for a few years and Dan was a boy scout. We had many adventures that we went on in order to earn badges, back to that almighty red pencil syndrome…..do this and IF you do a good job and fulfill ALL the requirements you will get a badge of honor. All that said, there is a great piece that can be extracted from this experience, we all learned how to use a compass.
That’s right…..at a young age most of us already learned how to use and read a compass, but what happened? We didn’t realize what a powerful tool this really was, only when we really needed it. What we didn’t also realize is that this is a tool that we need in our EVERYDAY lives. Live by the compass…..live by intent.
What are we truly intending for our lives? That is an easy question….we have our NEW BLUEPRINTS in front of us, our course is set with our DMP’s. Our compass is also already there in the exercises we do everyday. Doesn’t reading your DMP everyday keep you on track? It is also meant to engage your default mechanism, your SUBBY….I love the Subby!! The Subby sees where you are headed and will keep you on course. ALSO, doesn’t reading your DMP a loud at least once a day another great way of keeping on course?
Those around you who are hearing this mapped out plan can also act as a compass keeping you on track. They hear this and in their own way will “graciously” help to keep you on course….the WAY they do this is their own old blueprint. Jealousy, disbelief, misunderstanding or whatever feelings/opinions that come out WHEN they are reminding or keeping us on course is just that THEIR issue, not one that we need to take on. This is what we are learning right now by not giving our opinions. It is AMAZING how often we do this and it is done to us. Og Mandino reminds us best…
“But how will I react to the actions of others? With love. For just as love is my weapon to open the hearts of men, love is also my shield to repulse the arrows of hate and the spears of anger.” – Og Mandino
As Week 6 winds down and we get ready to embark on another exciting week, let’s all remember we have the ability to take our shiny, new BLUEPRINT to new heights each and everyday. What we think about we bring about…..IT NEVER FAILS!
What are you going to think about today?
Keep shining my friends, KEEP SHINING!!
